Casa Andromeda, Mondrago, Mallorca - canvas print

Having spent many summers boating in these waters, Mondrago in Mallorca holds a very special place in my heart. This painting is a reflection of those long, sun-drenched days and the absolute joie de vivre of being anchored in a quiet Mallorcan cove. I wanted to capture the charm of Casa Andromeda, tucked away among the Aleppo pines, looking out over a sea that always seems to have a magical, turquoise glow.

The two boats moored in the foreground are my way of adding a bit of playful energy to the natural serenity of the bay. I’ve stylised them with bright, sunny patterns to echo the happy, slow-paced life we enjoyed during those Mediterranean summers. By using soft watercolor washes for the sky and the fractured, shimmering reflections in the water, I’ve tried to bottle that feeling of peaceful contentment you get at the end of a perfect day on the boat. My hope is that this piece shares a bit of that warmth and lifts the viewer’s spirits, just as these waters always did for me.
