Hampton Court Palace - Limited Edition Giclee Print

When I painted this view of Hampton Court Palace, I wanted to move away from the serious, formal feel usually associated with historic landmarks. My goal was to inject a sense of joie de vivre into the scene, reimagining the palace through a storybook lens that feels warm and approachable. While I have kept the architectural details of the Tudor brickwork and the grand gatehouse, they are balanced by a much more playful energy.

The heart of the painting is the row of traditional rowing boats along the Thames. I have stylised them into bold, cheerful vessels, decorated with bright patterns and primary colours, adding a friendly, welcoming presence to the water. By combining the old-world weight of the Palace with these whimsical vessels and their soft, shimmering reflections, I hope to lift the observer's spirits. It’s my way of capturing the quiet joy and optimism of a perfect afternoon by the river, turning a grand piece of history into something that feels like a happy escape.

There are only 75 limited edition prints available, each one signed and numbered by hand. The unframed prints are 27.9 x 42 cm (A3). The framed versions are 59.4 x 42 cm (A2) and are presented behind glass inside a white mount and frame.
