Menton - Limited Edition Giclee Print

Menton has always felt like the quintessential pearl of the Mediterranean, and I painted this piece to capture that exact feeling of sun-drenched joie de vivre. My focus was on the amazing way that the town’s terracotta and ochre buildings seem to climb the hill, creating a dense, almost puzzle-like mosaic of colour. To me, that skyline, topped by the beautiful spire of the Basilica against the majestic Alps, is pure warmth.

But the most important part of the painting is the harbour. I wanted to add a playful, friendly energy to the scene, so I have lined the quay with my signature stylised boats. By rendering them with bold, geometric patterns and cheerful, bright colours, they become much more than just vessels; they are little characters full of personality. This contrast, with the structured town against the playful boats and their shimmering watercolour reflections, is my way of bottling the simple, uplifting joy of a Mediterranean summer, turning a breathtaking place into a happy, whimsical story.

There are only 75 limited edition prints available, each one signed and numbered by hand. The unframed prints are 27.9 x 42 cm (A3). The framed versions are 59.4 x 42 cm (A2) and are presented behind glass inside a white mount and frame.
