Riomaggiore - Limited Edition Giclee Print

Riomaggiore is easily one of my absolute favourite places to visit by boat, and anyone who has ever approached this village from the sea knows exactly why. I painted this piece to capture that striking, postcard-perfect view as you anchor up outside the harbour. The way the brightly coloured tower houses are stacked steeply against the rugged, terraced cliffs is just breathtaking, and I wanted the whole scene to radiate that warm, sun-kissed joie de vivre.

In the foreground, three of my signature boats bob happily on the water, anchored to golden buoys. I’ve decorated them with bold geometric patterns in coral, sunny yellow, and deep blue to mirror the cheerful chaos of the village behind them. By contrasting the steep, dramatic stone cliffs with these playful little characters and their soft, rippling reflections, I wanted to capture the sheer wonder of discovering this hidden Italian gem from the water. For me, this painting is all about the thrill of travel and sharing that uplifted, happy feeling of arriving somewhere truly magical.

There are only 75 limited edition prints available, each one signed and numbered by hand. The unframed prints are 27.9 x 42 cm (A3). The framed versions are 59.4 x 42 cm (A2) and are presented behind glass inside a white mount and frame.
